"Hey, buddy.  Got a million dollars/?"

A million smackers can buy you a lot of house in Upstate New York.  We looked at a dozen rural counties and sought out homes that are currently on the market for about $1,000,000.  Give or take a hundred grand or so.  The results are kind of surprising.

Sure, you can get a lot of house almost anywhere for a million dollars.  Throw in some water, whether it be a lake front or a country stream, and you can add on a lot more.  Mountain views?  Always a great monetary add on!  And these houses have them all.

The photos of these houses will make your jaws drop.  As for me, I'll take the "woodsy" ones in the Adirondacks and the Catskills.  I'm not a water guy, so I'll pass on those located right on the Finger Lakes, the St. Lawrence, the Hudson, or Lake Ontario.  But give me a secluded mountaintop log home, with expansive views and a wrap around deck and you have made me a happy man.  And those are also on this list.

So if you get a lucky scratcher this week and you are looking to get out of your small humble abode, here are some great homes spread all over Upstate New York where you can enjoy life and live your "champagne wishes and caviar dreams" (kind of) and all for about a million bucks!

Now, get to scratching....
