Kesha Files Appeal Against Court in Dr. Luke Sexual Assault Case
Kesha isn't giving up the fight against her alleged rapist, Dr. Luke.
The "Tick Tock" singer filed an appeal after a Supreme Court ruled that she would have to continue to work at Kermasobe Records with the man she claims drugged and raped her.
According to That Grape Juice, her lawyer, Mark Geragos, stated that the Court's ruling was based on false pretenses. "The Court erred in basing its decision on its finding that Kesha could record without interference from Gottwald. You can’t force someone to work … in a situation in which they don’t want to work, the Court’s ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald’s companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that," said Geragos.
However, Luke's lawyers aren't letting him bash their client.
"The court repeatedly stated Kesha was already free to record without Dr Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims," said Luke's lawyers. "That’s because all the evidence – including Kesha’s own sworn testimony – show her allegations are false. Her attorneys can continue manufacturing even more false and outrageous claims, but the fact remains that her time would be better spent in a studio than wasting time having her lawyer and mother spin lies in the media."
The sad news came to light and went viral last month as Kesha lost the original case. Pop stars including Adele and Lady Gaga rallied in support behind the 29-year-old while thousands signed a petition in favor of Kesha. Earlier this month, there were rumors that Sony Music planned to drop Dr. Luke but there's been no updates on that as of yet.
