Saratoga Performing Arts Center in beautiful Saratoga Springs, New York recently edged out Red Rocks Amphitheater, making it the nation's number one outdoor venue according to USA Today's Readers Choice poll.

If you ever get a chance to attend a show at Saratoga Performing Arts Center or SPAC as its commonly referred to, don't pass up an opportunity. I've been going to concerts here since I was a teenager. Over the years, I've seen John Denver, Air Supply, ZZ Top, and Journey perform here. I recently had the opportunity to re-live the 1980's all over again. My friends and I decided to go and watch Def Leppard, Styx, and Tesla. The show was terrific; my dance moves, not so much!

If you're curious as to why SPAC got rated America's number one outdoor venue, the reasons are countless: The acoustics are amazing, the fans are top notch, and the atmosphere is inviting. It's hidden away in the woods, making it secluded and somewhat private. When your there, you'll feel like you are one of the privileged few to witness a concert in such an intimate environment.

Like most outdoor amphitheaters you have a choice of siting inside under the roof, or on the lawn. I usually choose to set up a chair on the grass and watch the show from there. I like the freedom of being able to move around around. It also gives me an opportunity to showcase my suave dance moves.

Keep in mind, most shows go on,  rain or shine, so if you purchased outdoor seating, be sure and bring an umbrella with you!

Just Jen and I talked about my concert experience this morning.
