Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ Album Delay Due to Travis Scott, Says Songwriter in Twitter Rant
UPDATE: Glass John uploaded a video on YouTube called "4ROBYN," featuring what sounds like a demo of "Kiss It Better" playing in the background. And in the video's description? "f--k your pride...." Oof.
Is Rihanna's rumored boyfriend Travis Scott the reason why her new album ANTI has been delayed?
In a long Twitter rant, songwriter Glass John blames Scott's influence with Roc Nation as the reason why Rihanna's ANTI album has yet to see the light of day, despite three singles from the album ("American Oxygen," "FourFiveSeconds," "Bitch Better Have My Money") having already been released.
John explains that he wrote a track for the album titled "Kiss It Better" which was to have served as the first single from the album. But according to John, Scott -- who is producing the album -- has been the roadblock in getting the song and ANTI released.
"He's wasting valuable studio time trying to come up with a song that can top 'Kiss It Better' and he cannot because it's the beat(sic) damn song," John writes in one of his many tweets.
He goes on to say that the album is "done" and says that it was originally going to be released last November, then delayed for a possible Christmas release.
"The album would've been out on Chrismas(sic). If Travis hadn't convinced Rihanna that wasn't good enough. What has he produced to say this!!?!!!"
John further throws Scott under the bus by suggesting that Scott is looking for an all-new sound for Rihanna that would detract her from her usual pop chart-topping hits, claiming that Scott is hoping that Rihanna puts out an "all trap" album instead.
ANTI would be Rihanna's eighth studio album and her first since 2012's Unapologetic.
