What's not to love about drinking a Frappuccino? They usually are pretty delicious and make any dull day an exciting one. Ok, maybe I’m pushing it. You have to agree they are pretty delicious and nice to look at. Have you ever wondered how they get those pink colors? Warning: This may change your whole outlook on these delicious treats.

According to a recent report, the Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino gets its beautiful pink color from an unusual source, Bugs. Starbucks has reportedly started using cochineal extract, which comes from dehydrated and ground up cochineal bugs.

They're using bug shells to get that pink color in an effort to get away from artificial additives. If you think it’s disgusting and wrong, actually its not wrong. According to the government, the crushed insects are considered safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

So… enjoy your bug juice.
