My son's friend from across the street, Aki, is on his way home from visiting his family in Bosnia. There is a reason why they cut their visit to the region short. Over the last few days, Bosnia has been hit by the worst flooding in over a century. Russian cargo planes and rescue boats took part in the relief effort after flood waters killed more than 20 people in neighboring Bosnia.

Utica's Bosnian Community has a new Facebook page.  Launched in June of 2012, the page seeks to serve to connect those of Bosnian descent now in Utica.
