While we've known for a while that 'Bridesmaids' director Paul Feig would be helming the upcoming female-centric 'Ghostbusters' reboot, today we have another development: not only is Feig directing the reboot, which will definitely be a separate entity from the original 'Ghostbusters' films, but the project will re-team him with Katie Dippold, who wrote the screenplay for Feig's buddy cop comedy 'The Heat.' This is pretty much the best news since, well, the news that we're getting an all-female 'Ghostbusters' movie.

At this point, any new 'Ghostbusters' movie has been fancasted within an inch of its life. Any actor working today under the age of 40? They've been considered for the 'Ghostbusters' movie. Shoot, there's a chance you were considered to star in the 'Ghostbusters' movie. So, there's no point in going over yet another list of who should star in 'Ghostbusters 3' or whatever it is they're calling it these days. Unless, of course, the person who made that list is Bill Murray. In that case, *in rapt*.

Feig, who also brought us ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Heat,’ has given us some hilarious and truly great female-driven films. By making the new ‘Ghostbusters’ women, this project has so much more potential because there are so many insanely funny and talented women out there. But Sony announced that they are going forward with 'Ghostbusters 3,' and now director Ivan Reitman has clarified they plan to start within the next year, though he will no longer be on board as the director.

In news that should come as a surprise to no one, ever, 'Ghostbusters 3' has been delayed yet again. So this movie is just a joke to everyone at this point, right?

'Ghostbusters 3' - after what seems like years of endless rumors - finally seems ready to actually happen with filming set to begin in summer 2013 with a release date in 2014, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original film.

If you still had any hope left for ‘Ghostbusters 3,’ feel free to casually discard it now: Bill Murray is officially, definitely no longer appearing in the film. It’s been a long and dramatic journey for this dying horse, but it’s safe to say maybe we should let it go with dignity now? Not so fast — the film will go on without Murray.

Everywhere they go, members of the original ‘Ghostbusters’ cast will be asked about the rumored third movie up until that movie’s actually playing on a screen somewhere.
