We've had a lot of extreme weather this month. After a quick taste of the sunshine and 90-degree temps, it was back to winter jackets and mittens the following weekend.

UPDATED 5/3/16 9:05 am   State Police have identified the victim as 23-year old Aaron Teater of Verona.

There are plenty of great places to fish but you may not have heard about these ones. Oh, and you don't need a boat to fish here!

The Oneida County Health Department says blue-green algae has been found in parts of Oneida Lake.

Oneida Lake, the largest inland lake in New York state is also the site of a great number of shipwrecks.  Because the lake was part of the Erie Canal system, Oneida Lake saw lots of commerical traffic beginning in the mid-1800s. Today the locations of many of these wrecks is kept secret by local fishermen who don't want to give up prized fishing locations.

After this spring's heavy rain and storms, Oneida Lake had been closed to boat traffic, as the lake was at dangerously high levels.  Today, Oneida County Sheriff, Rob Maciol, has lifted the ban on boating on the lake.
