When winter closes in and you need a little getaway, there are some cool and cozy options in the Adirondacks.

Whiteface Mountain in the High Peaks of the Adirondack Park saw New York's first snowfall of the winter of 2015-2016 on the afternoon of Friday October 16.

This weekend I headed north for some amazing sight-seeing and winter adventures. Saranac Lake had their Winter Carnival, Lake Placid had the Empire Games - so much going on for one weekend.

Even though summer is still a few weeks away on the calendar, the Memorial Day holiday weekend is traditionally seen at the traditional start of the summer season.
