Increasingly, crimes are being committed in Utica and around the country involving young kids with guns, and police are struggling to get the trend under control.
A crowd of people gathered outside Utica City Hall on Monday to demand justice for Nyah Mway, the juvenile that was killed in an officer-involved shooting over the weekend.
Senator Joe Griffo and community leader Courtney Muhammad appeared on WIBX's Keeler Show on Thursday to discuss ways to fix the problem of youth violence in Utica's inner-city. Over the last year, violence and especially gun violence and crime have riddled Utica's inner-city streets, including a shooting that occurred following a football game at Proctor High School in the fall.

For the most part my long weekend in Buffalo for the forth of July holiday was wonderful and uneventful. Just one thing put a dark cloud over my visit.
