The 34th Utica Boilermaker Is In The Books

And again, Ridouane Harroufi from Morocco is a 2nd time winner of the Utica Boilermaker 15K road race. He also won in 2009.

15K is about 9.3 miles of running but as I noted live on Lite 98.7 just before the cannon blast, the path to the starting area adds just enough distance to total 9.87 miles. (okay I just made that up).

It became emotionally real when the flag was lowered and the Star Spangled Banner rang out. Soon after off they went.

About a dozon countries were represented in this years race, 36 all together in it's history. If you wish to participate in this truly international event, well, registration for the 2012 Boilermaker begins this coming January.
