This week is National Banned Book Week, and Utica College is celebrating by holding their 25th annual Banned Book Read-in Wednesday afternoon.

Students are encouraged to attend the event to get an idea of the type of books that have been banned in the past, and understand the importance of their First Amendment rights.

Most of the banned books on display are available to be checked-out by students, and some of the more popular books are The Jungle, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Catcher in the Rye and The Lord of the Flies.

The banned book read-in is open to the public until 4:00 at the Strebel Student Center on the Utica College Campus.
