Vanessa Hudgens is 25 and several years removed from her relationship with her 'High School Musical' co-star Zac Efron, yet we often still associate the singer and the actress with that period in her life, both professionally and personally. The Hudge has shed her Disney past and talks grown up roles and audiences as the smoldering cover girl for the February 2014 issue of Flare.

Hudgens looks amazing in her black pencil skirt and square top, like a sexy middle manager at an office. But that smoldering stare gets us every time.

She has not shied away from bad girl roles, like that of a naughty, law-breaking co-ed in 'Spring Breakers' and as a pregnant teen with a chopped 'do and family issues in 'Gimme Shelter,' out next year.

Hudgens is not content to rest on her laurels or repeat past successes. She wants meatier, darker fare to sink her teeth into. Speaking of potential parts, she said, "They send you roles that you’ve just done, but I don’t want to do the same thing twice. I want the parts I gotta go out of my way for."

That's what we call a solid professional goal.

Hudgens also noted that her fans are not younger, Disney-a-holics. "Now it’s adults, and not even those who have kids, who actually know me," she said. "It’s kinda cool because people my age are actually seeing my work and appreciating it."

The fans grew up with her and she's making it worth their while.
