Are you travelling for the holiday season? If so, you're probably expecting a nightmare in the airports. Luckily, one airline company is hoping to cheer up passengers by offering free priority boarding to anyone who wears an ugly sweater this Friday.

December 20 is National Ugly Sweater Day, so Alaska Airlines is celebrating with smiles and style. And if you don't have an ugly sweater, that's okay. According to a press release, the airline will upgrade anyone wearing anything holiday-related and festive. Bring on the Christmas onesies, Santa suits, and reindeer ears!

Throughout the rest of the month, Alaska is also playing holiday-themed music during boarding and offering free holiday movies during flights, according to a press release.

"We know holiday travel can be stressful for some, which is why we've made sure flying with the 'merrier carrier' this time of year is an experience that brings nonstop joy to all our guests," Natalie Bowman, Alaska Airlines' managing director of marketing and advertising said in a press release. "We love going above and beyond to make your trip memorable; celebrating Ugly Sweater Day is just another way we're making the holidays a priority."

Although the airline doesn't really make any flights out of airports in central or upstate New York, you could still take advantage of the deal if you have a connecting flight through Alaska Airlines. If you're lucky enough to receive the upgrade, hopefully it'll make your flight a little merrier. Check out some other tips here for surviving the holiday travel season.
