You've heard of avocados and you've heard of toast but  have you ever heard of avocado toast, and do you believe it's New York's most craved food?

Don't get us wrong, avocados are healthy and awesome when made into guacamole, but for a state that gave the world the Buffalo chicken wing, New York style pizza, chicken riggies, egg cream...the list could go on and on, to make avocado toast it's most craved taste treat seems ludicrous. According to CityData.com which compiled a ranking of each state's most craved foods from the check-in and recommendation app foursquare names Avocado Toast as New York's most craved food,

But guess where foodies talk about “avocado toast” at 3,143 percent above the national average? Not California, but New York.

What exactly is avocado toast? It's apparently spreading avocado on toast and topping it with garnishments like an egg or tomato or lox.

This is what we've become, New Yorkers? Spreading an avocado on toasted bread is the most craved food in the state? It was likely inevitable that this article would devolve into an upstate versus downstate thing, but I imagine you'd get laughed out of any restaurant from Buffalo to Albany if you tried to order avocado toast.

So cosmopolitan Manhattanites and the hipsters in Brooklyn can keep their trendy toast. I'll stick to my salt potatoes, big foldy slices of pizza and some hot wings. Thank you very much.
