This weekend, 'New to Naomi' took me on a fun experience - my first ever New York fair! I've always loved fairs, so obviously I was excited when I heard there was one going on in Boonville.

Nothing says summer quite like spending the day at the fair. This was the first fair I've gotten the chance to check out (but definitely not the last). The Boonville-Oneida County Fair had everything one would expect at the fairgrounds - delicious fried foods, amusement rides, games, animals, and a variety of shows and attractions.

The day started with a walk around the fairgrounds, then right into enjoying some rides (I've said it a million times, and I'll say it a million more - You are NEVER too old for fair rides!). After having my brains spun around more than I could handle, it was time to try some of the fair food. Loaded french fries are always a go-to item, but I wanted to try something I had never had before, too. That happened to be the deep-fried Twix (and it was absolutely amazing).

The day ended by checking out some of the animals, and visiting the vendors and shops along the fairgrounds. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to check out the demolition derby like I wanted to (oh well, maybe at the Herkimer County Fair), but I still had a fun-filled day!

'New to Naomi' continues next weekend with more adventures, more exploring, and more events happening in Central New York. I can't wait to see where my next trip takes me!
