October 29, 2012 A construction crane has partially collapsed in high winds attributed to Hurricane Sandy. The crane is positioned in a building high above 57th Street and teetering dangerously.

A man drove from Long Island, New York, into Lower Manhattan earlier today in a van he thought was filled with explosives. He parked the van close to the Federal Reserve building, just a few blocks from the World Trade Center, and planned to detonate it using a cell phone from a nearby hotel.

October 10, 2012 A magnitude 3.9 earthquake that stuck overnight in Quebec was felt in parts of the North Country. According to the US Geologic Survey, the quake was centered about five miles from Beloeil, Quebec, approximately 60 miles north of the US Border.
