Due to a fire in a storage facility last week, the Chenango County Toys for Tots program lost about $8,000 worth of toys.

They are now asking area businesses and others to help them raise money and collect toys to replace those destroyed. Dennis Rivenburg of Toys for Tots says people are starting to come forward with money and toys to replace those lost in the fire, yet still more is needed.

The distribution center for Toys for Tots is in the former Rite Aid building, next to the current Rite Aid on North Broad Street in Norwich. Toys can be dropped off there.

Toys will be distributed to needy families right up until Christmas Eve. For more information on how you can help, call Gail at The Label Gallery in Norwich at 607-334-2234.
