WIBX 950 in Utica, NY, owned and operated by Townsquare Media, is looking for great journalists to join our award winning news team! If you can handle a fast-paced newsroom environment that places as much value on great digital content as it does on great on-air content, then we want to hear from you.

We are seeking experienced on-air reporters who can also dominate the digital space with great content, dynamic writing, strong social media presence and can perform as part of a #1 rated morning show.

Sales Assistant/Assistant Business Manager

JOB SUMMARY: As a liaison between the Director of Sales, station Account Executives and advertising clients, the Sales Assistant provides general administrative support to the Sales Department including creating sales proposals, correspondence, sales pieces, competitive requests, and more. This position also assists the Business Manager with multiple office functions such as billing, accounting reports, and assistance with other financial duties. Also serves as backup to Traffic Department on an as needed basis to assist with scheduling commercial times.

QUALIFICATIONS: Strong word-processing skills and knowledge of computer graphics programs are essential. Database management falls under this job function. Must be customer-focused, organized and detail-oriented with the abilities to work well under deadlines and handle last-minute assignments. Must excel in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to Business Manager, Director of Sales, and station Account Executives.
  • Assists with the creation, proofing and assembly of sales marketing materials.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for station client marketing campaigns.
  • Receptionist, Traffic/Commercial Scheduling Department and Business Office back-up, including switchboard relief.
  • Update Sales collateral as directed by the Director of Sales

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and sell advertising programs which may include local radio, digital products such as display, streaming, loyalty programs, e-commerce, and digital marketing services
  • Leverage our live event platform to sell sponsorship and sales programs to new and existing clients
  • Create new relationships with local and regional businesses in our area
  • Cold call to gain new business
  • Inquiring and crafting advertising programs for your clients, both new and existing
  • Work with local and corporate marketing teams to develop campaign support materials
  • Responsible to accurately project revenues, meet and exceed monthly budgets for all product lines and overachieve annual budgets
  • Enters new customer data and other sales contract details for station clients into computer database
  • Follow accountabilities set forth by your Sales Manager to help guide you to success achieving monthly sales quotas consistently
  • Provide insight and value to executive management to shape the future of our organization

QUALIFICATIONS
