Connecticut Tragedy Has Local Connection
While the nation and the world are mourning the deaths of the victims of Friday’s horrific Connecticut school shootings a local couple are grieving a much more personal loss. WKTV is reporting that a Sherrill couple, Jack and Kathy Radley of Sherrill are the grandparents of victim 6-year-old James Mattioli. His mother, Cynthia Mattioli (Radley) is a native of the the city.
Mayor William Vineall has reached out to the family and said the city is ready to help them when they call for it.
President Obama will be traveling to Newtown today to meet with the families of the victims as well as the first responders.
