East Coast Meteor Spotted in New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC [VIDEO]
Reports of a meteor sighting over New York blazed across social media Friday night. While the sighting was real, several of the photos floating around on social media appear to be hoaxes.
Multiple news outlets are reporting that a meteor was spotted over the Atlantic coast of the United States.

However other reports say the photos and videos posted in relation to the meteor are fakes.
The Instagram floating around claiming to be from tonight’s east coast #meteor is just an image ripped from a 3 year old blog post.

This video was posted within the last hour on YouTube – again there is some question as to its validity.
A home security camera in Maryland caught the fireball streak across the sky.
This video comes from the Hopkins Automotive Group in Delaware

This photo is alleged to be an impact – the reported impact zone is near the Maryland-Delaware border.
