Given the recent 10-year anniversary of the series, and documentary testifying to the lasting impact Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' had on the fan community, even the so-called "Browncoats" must eventually concede that a true 'Firefly' revival may never come to fruition. Yet even with all the clout Whedon commands in Hollywood these days, hard at work on both 'The Avengers 2' and the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, Whedon has never given up a sliver of hope for 'Firefly' to live again. Find out if Joss thinks a 'Firefly' reunion could still happen inside!

Having directed 'The Avengers' to massive acclaim, success hopefully to be repeated with ABC's upcoming 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series and the inevitable 'Avengers 2,' Joss Whedon has his pick of near any Hollywood property these days. Is it any surprise then, that 'Firefly' fans hold our cautious hope that Whedon could still one day re-light the 'Firefly?' Not being one to ever say die, Whedon recently mused to the Toronto Sun about the possibility of finally reviving the series, even after its feature-film spin-off 'Serenity':

I'll never really accept it and I always, in the back of my head, think, "What if I could get the old gang back together?" Well, you know, it's something I would love to do...Part of me is like, "God, it would be great when I finish Avengers 2 to do that." I suspect very strongly that after Avengers 2 the next thing I do will be a one-man show, possibly one monkey.

Of course, after 'The Avengers 2' wraps in 2015, there's no telling where Joss might decide to take his talents, or if any of the cast would be mentally or physically up for another go on the 'Firefly.' But like Whedon himself, the fans never say die.

Well, what say you? Do you still hold out any hope for a true 'Firefly' revival, given all the other TV series being pulled off the scrap heap these days? What will Joss Whedon's next post-'Avengers' project be? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
