The buzz that classic TGIF sitcom 'Boy Meets World' would spawn a sequel spin-off series titled 'Girl Meets World' got very real yesterday, when it was announced that original stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel had indeed signed on to reprise their roles of married couple Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence.  With the castings confirmed, buzz of additional cast members returning has hit an all-time high, but what does Fishel herself have to say about the project?  How should we approach 'Girl Meets World?'

Whether or not you've let it sink in that Cory and Topanga will return for The Disney Channel's upcoming sequel series 'Girl Meets World,' the original cast members are far from silent on the matter.  In addition to the myriad of past stars chiming in with their two cents, officially-cast Danielle Fishel recently took to her Tumblr page to clarify a few rumors, explain the show's similarities and differences to its predecessor, and her own reasons for accepting the gig.

"I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear," says Fishel of her former co-stars. "The first comment out of every person’s mouth was, “Let’s only do it if we think we can create something as special as we did with BMW.”

Fishel also urged fans of the series to look at 'Girl Meets World' as a new show rather than a simple pickup of the original ABC series, though much of the heart and humor would be left in tact as it explores the world of Corey and Topanga's young daughter Riley.

I say that so that I can say this: GMW is a new show. It isn’t BMW brought back to life but in current day. It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages. It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW.

But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show. We started at the same place with BMW but we evolved and we evolved quickly. For those of you who knew and loved BMW, please allow this show to evolve as well. Stick with us. Give us a chance.

What say you?  Are you interested to see 'Girl Meets World' as an original series, or would you only want to watch for the connection to 'Boy Meets World?'  Give us your take in the comments!
