Maroon 5's latest single, the explicit "This Summer's Gonna Hurt," isn't quite club-anthem material as it stands, but if that's what you're looking for you'll want to check out DJ-producer Alesso's new remix.

According to EDM.com, Alesso first debuted his remix of "This Summer's Gonna Hurt" during his recent set at Electric Daisy Carnival. Alesso unveiled the official audio a few days later, tweeting a link along with, "When I heard this record I just had to do a version. Turn it uuuuuuuup!!"

The remix is a powerhouse electronic hit, with heavy synth beats and a subtle, yet effective, shift in tempo. It's not a huge departure from the original song, but it highlights the anthemic aspects of the track, giving it a more explosive feel.

According to Idolator, Alesso knew he wanted to remix the track as soon as he heard it. He said, "It’s just one of those records you have to turn up so loud it hurts. It’s the record of the summer for me!"

Levine was just as thrilled to work with Alesso on the remix. He said, "We are big fans of Alesso’s and were thrilled to hear that he would do a remix of the song. We are both friends with [producer] Shellback and have mutual respect for each other so it was cool to be able to collaborate on something together like this."
