Sure you love bacon, but have you ever tried the precooked kind? Many of us are a little skeptical of bacon that comes unrefrigerated, and fully prepared, but Matt Hubbell dared to try it.

Bacon connoisseurs balk at the idea of eating fully cooked bacon. Many of them claim that eating it is the equivalent of having a piece of cheap chocolate. Devout bacon lovers aren't afraid to speak about all the negatives: "No sizzle, no crunch, no taste!" they say. Precooked bacon haters also have a hard time believing that it could ever taste good.

The Huffington Post also has some bad things to say about it:

GUYS. Bacon is meat. Meat SHOULD take longer to cook than toast! Also, let's just be honest with each other: bacon is glorious, fortifying and delicious, but one thing bacon is not -- healthy. You shouldn't just be able to snack on it like popcorn. It should take some effort.

They also ranted about all of the additives and preservatives that are used in the manufacturing process of fully cooked bacon:

Every major producer of precooked bacon lists these as the "curing ingredients." It just feels suspicious. If someone won't tell you what goes into making a product, we are wary of that product.

What exactly is in this stuff?: Water, Salt, Sugar, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Ascorbate, and Sodium Nitrate.

Ok the bacon sizzled, and it was delicious. Certainly it doesn't measure up to the pan fried, greasy, fatty, raw variety, but if you need to get your bacon fix, eat it. Love it.
