McDonald's has come a long way. Since the company began in 1940, they've become the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries.

During this recession, McDonald's has been one of the success stories. They lowered their prices and aimed their advertising right at families who have had to tighten their belts.  But, of course, McDonald's prices used to be even cheaper.

Here's a rundown of the original prices at McDonald's:

Hamburger -- 15 cents
Cheeseburger -- 19 cents
Shakes -- 20 cents
French Fries -- 10 cents
Soda -- 10 cents

Makes you a little sick to your stomach doesn't it?  15 cents for a hamburger.  You can't get anything for 15 cents anymore.  Oh the good ole days.
