A Metro North commuter train traveling from suburban Connecticut into Grand Central Terminal in New York City derailed in Fairfield, Connecticut and then collided with an outbound train. Social Media is feeding the first photos of the derailment and aftermath.

There are several injuries but no fatalities reported in the crash which has severly snarled the Friday evening commute. The collision has been described as a 'sideswipe.'

The first photo of the crash came in from Connecticut Post reporter Denis O'Malley on Twitter.

Metro-North is a part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority or MTA.
