This new car seat hopes to prevent the tragedies of babies being forgotten in hot vehicles and suffering heatstroke. Nearly 40 kids die annually (1 child every 9 days) from being left behind in hot cars according to kidsandcars.org. With this new technology, hopefully that will be a thing of the past.

This new car seat technology works with the cars on board diagnostic system and alerts the driver that a baby is inside the car when the car is shut off with a series of tones.

Walmart  has signed an exclusive, one-year deal with Evenflo to sell the Evenflo Embrace DLX Infant Car Seat for $149.  According to the Evenflo website this new technology works with 2008 or newer gas/diesel equipped vehicles purchased in the U.S. or Canada. The SensorSafe™ system will also alert the driver within 30 seconds of the chest clip being unbuckled while driving.
