There's a new entry in the excellent field of restaurants in Central New York. The owners of Chesterfield Restaurant on Bleeker Street have doubled their fun. Chesterfield's Tavolo (the Italian word for "table") is open for business, right next to Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse on North Genesee Street.

It's located in the old House of the Good Shepherd building at 131-135 North Genesee. The new place appears to be a bit more casual and will seek to expand upon the offerings at the Chesterfield, which opened over 30 years ago. Chesterfield's Tavolo will specialize in coal-fired pizza and include such other popular menu items as greens and riggies.

Chesterfield owner Salvatore Borruso purchased the North Genesee Street property back in 2015 and was beset by construction delays that prevented his Chesterfield’s Tavolo from an earlier debut.
