NOAA Responds to ‘Mermaid: a Body Found’ – Says Mermaids and Mermen Are Not Real

Are mermaids real? A recent Animal Planet program called “Mermaids: the Body Found” that allegeldy recounts a body washed on shore has raised the question. A question similar to the ones raised after Fox aired the ‘UFO Autopsy‘ mockumentary. Now the National Ocean Service has responded saying that mercreatures (mermaids and mermen) are not real.
The government agency took the step to say they have no evidence that these creatures are real.
“No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found,” part of the post reads. Nevertheless, a NOAA spokesperson would not confirm that the post was in direct response to the show, which was presented in documentary format.
