This weekend, 'New to Naomi' took me up in North Country - near Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake. It was a camping adventure like nothing I've ever experienced before - 'New York Style.'

First of all, I've only been camping once in my life and I was in fifth grade, so that was a loonnnggg time ago. Secondly, I've never been camping 'New York Style' - which is different than camping in Michigan. You guys are more hard-core, and know how to camp! It was definitely a learning experience for me, but tons of fun!

Fish Creek Pond Campground is up north (in between Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake). I was able to see Saranac Lake and Lake Placid in the winter, but this area in the summer is a totally different story. I was blown away just by the drive up - all the trees green now, the mountains... it was absolutely beautiful!

We set up camp on Thursday and camped out all weekend. All the goods of camping too - kayaking, roasting marshmallows, Kan-Jam (of course), and sitting by the fire, drinking beers and sharing stories. Late at night the 'Yoo-Hoos' started happening across the lake (you can check out that video below).

Camping in North Country was a very unique experience. Something I would definitely love to do again. I still have a lot more exploring to do in Central New York, so now I'm wondering where my next adventures will take me!
