There's nothing sexier than a good pop music video. And what goes better with sex than violence? (Okay, preferably not violence if we're being literal here... but for the sake of good ol' fashioned American entertainment, it's a tradition!)

Murder has been a staple in pop music videos for decades, and while we certainly don't condone homicide or physical violence of any kind, there's something strangely glamorous about a pop star in a couture dress and killer heels getting her, well, killer on.

From Lady Gaga and Beyonce's Tarantino-esque poison-fueled murder spree in a diner, to No Doubt's Gwen Stefani offing her no-good husbands with psychotic glee (and a blow dryer or two) in a "Cell Block Tango" style breakdown, the glitz, sex appeal, and over-the-top nature of pop music is perfectly suited for equally over-the-top, dramatic displays of murder.

Case in point? Barbadian babe Rihanna made a huge splash in the summer of 2015 when she dropped the murderous video for her single "Bitch Better Have My Money." Featuring scenes of kidnapping, torture, and suggested homicide, the video was rife with violence and blood-soaked imagery coupled with visions of luxury, yachts, and designer clothes. Perfect fit, amirite?
