Shop Local Challenge: Think You Can Shop ONLY Local for 30 Days?

It's one thing to say #shoplocal, it's another thing to do it. We're going to take on that challenge, and shop 100% locally for the next 30 days. Want to join us?

Beth, Dave, and Kaylin of Lite 98.7 have decided to put their shopping dollars where their hearts are - right here in our local community. All three have committed to spending their hard-earned cash only at locally-owned, small businesses in the Utica-Rome area.

The goal is to spotlight some of the great businesses here in Central New York, and bring awareness to just what you can find if you take a minute to look.

You can get involved too. There will be t-shirts for the top 30 participants, and even a grand prize for one lucky shopper. 

Here's what you need to do:

• SHOP LOCAL whenever you can
• When you do, share a picture of your purchased item (or items) on Instagram (or email us the picture), and tag the business, @lite987, and use the hashtag #shoplocalchallenge (email pictures and details to beth@lite987.com or send them via Facebook)

That's it - it's super simple! Whether you're grabbing a slice of pizza or sneakers, or a lawn mower - we want to see it, if it's purchased locally.

It's up to us to help our local business community recover from the pandemic shutdown, and the best way to do that is by shopping and spreading the word about the great items you find. If you have a great local business we need to check out - let us know.
