This Thanksgiving weekend, we get a somewhat unexpected sequel to a somewhat unexpected 2011 comedy hit, along with a spin-off from a major animated blockbuster.
“You just went and made a new dinosaur? Probably not a good idea.”
And, there’s the ‘Jurassic Park 4’ trailer summed up for you in pretty much one exchange. While the previous ‘Jurassic Park’ films dealt with the folly of John Hammond’s original plans for the park, this new film imagines a world where Jurassic Park is now up and running. The kinks have been worked out. Raptors are trained. But, people are still people and that means they do really stupid things. Like create massive “hybrid” dinosaurs to goose attendance at their park.
There have been a lot of reports regarding the trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ Just last week, news surfaced that Disney planned to attach the first teaser trailer to screenings of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,’ which seemed to confirm an earlier rumor, while Disney reps said they had “bigger plans” for their official debut. And now another report has surfaced, claiming that we’ll see the first teaser in theaters as soon as this coming Thanksgiving week. Madness!
A few days ago, the YouTube page for Universal Spain posted memorable footage of the cup of water vibrating from ‘Jurassic Park’ as a teaser for ‘Jurassic World,’ which seemed pretty curious. But today brings our first official footage from ‘Jurassic World’ in the form of a far more awesome teaser for the trailer, which will hit the web on Thanksgiving day. If that’s not something to be thankful for, what is?
Following the success of films like 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Maleficent' (two films not highly regarded by critics, but highly regarded by people who like buying movie tickets), it wasn't a surprise that Disney would continue the trend of adapting some of their classic animated tales into live-action movies. Today, we get our first real look at their next effort, a live-action version of one of their most revered tales, 'Cinderella'.
Thought we were done with new 'Avengers 2' footage, did you? Well, the onslaught continues as today brings us yet another new 'Avengers 2' trailer, this one a slightly extended version of the original trailer with new footage, new dialogue and new Ultrons.
One of the great celebratory moments of 2014 was seeing Ben Affleck nude in 'Gone Girl' (and a little bit of Neil Patrick Harris too, if you were paying attention). It's not as if us women are male-nudity-starved, craven maniacs just salivating for a glimpse of wang or something, but with all the rampant female nudity and objectification that permeates pop culture, it's nice to see a little equality. So it's disheartening to hear that Jamie Dornan will not be appearing fully nude in '50 Shades of Grey,' as if that movie needed another reason to be avoided.
