Sting Thinks Celebrities Should Stand Back From 'Occupy' Movement

Sting feels that celebrities need to stand back from the global "Occupy" movement. In Rolling Stone's 2011 "Year In Review," Sting spoke candidly saying, "I don't think celebrities should necessarily go to 'Occupy' events. They're usually there to aggrandize themselves, anyway. I will support it from a distance. We have to get back to civic responsibility at some point -- otherwise we don't have a society."

My son Mark & I along with Uncle Scott went to the city yesterday to attend university open houses. My son is looking forward to college life over the next few years. While strolling the streets of Manhattan, we discovered that the Wall Street protest was in fact mostly not on Wall Street but at Liberty Street & Broadway, in Liberty Square.

"Occupy Utica" Protest Starts In Liberty Bell Park

Last night more than 75 citizens of Utica came out to Liberty Bell Park in downtown to protest Wall Street, and be part of the “Occupy Utica” movement. Protesters came out in support of those on Wallstreet believing that the same issues apply to the people here in Utica. People all over the country are fed up with the actions of the United States government, and Utica came out last night to support the cause.
