Flower power is alive and well. And in some places the flowers are blossoming just a little more.

Estately has come out with a list of the 17 best cities in America for hippies. Why 17? We wish we had a far out answer, but we don’t. We do know the rankings were created by looking at “marijuana availability and legality, number of stores selling hemp, local counter-culture icons, tie-dye availability, hippie festivals, progressive government, intensity of Occupy protests, and a Facebook poll.”

Eugene, Oregon takes the prestigious top spot, followed by Olympia, Washington, helping to give the list a western flavor. Portland, Oregon came in fifth, giving the Beaver State two representatives in the top five and proving that when people talk to you there, they may literally be blowing smoke up your you-know-what.

So, slip on a pair of Birkenstocks, grab your tie dye shirt and put on your rose-colored glasses. It's time to check out all the cities on the list. Don't agree? Don't get mad -- just remember to give peace a chance.
