With Monday's high temperatures here in Central New York topping out at the 90 degree mark in many places, a cold front moving across the state is expected to produce some potentially severe storms. The forecast from Weather Central for this area calls for showers and thunderstorms Monday evening, with the possibility of strong gusty winds and hail.  The weather service says the front will move east across the state early tonight, and will trigger the storms.

The severe weather is most likely between 8 and 11pm.  The cold front will push out of the state quickly tonight, and leave temperatures for the next couple of days much cooler.  Area highs on Tuesday are expected to be in the upper 70's.
