Upstate New York ‘American Idol’ Advances To Top 10

An Upstate New York teen is a contestant on the current season of 'American Idol.' The audience has decided whether she'll move on.

Madison VanDenburg, from Cohoes near Albany, made it through to the Top 14 - and has been a favorite of the judges. Katy Perry has even compared her to American Idol darling Kelly Clarkson.

Last night, it was up to the audience to decide whether she Madison advanced - and she did!

Of course, Madison was thrilled, posting on her Instagram: "Guys WHAT IS GOING ON?! I can’t stop thinking about tonight. I was a mess on stage. I was crying, I was out of breath, I was terrified, but if nothing else I felt ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. I can’t tell you how much it means to be voted by YOU GUYS into top 10 of American idol. THANK YOU. from the bottom of my heart. this is the adventure of a lifetime, and I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to share it with the 9 other contestants that made it with me. I love you guys, the fan support has been incredible. I’m rambling now. I’m still a mess, but I’m a happy mess. Thank you."
