Upstate NY American Idol Contestant Makes It To Top 8

Madison VanDenberg  - the American Idol contestant from Upstate NY - has advanced to the Top 8 on the singing competition.

It was Disney night on 'American Idol' - who didn't love Katy Perry Dressed as Ursula from 'The Little Mermaid'? - and Madison VanDenberg knocked it out of the park.

Singing "How Far I'll Go" from Moana - Madison showed why she is going to go far. She's got an amazing stage presence and a voice that the judges have already compared to Kelly Clarkson.

Madison will join Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, Walker Burroughs, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, and Alyssa Raghu in the Top 8.

The 17-year-old from Cohoes will be safe tonight since it's a recap of the show so far. Competition will resume on Sunday.
