The Utica Observer Dispatch unveiled their new layout today.  The paper is physically smaller and is now being printed out of Binghamton following the shuttering of the printing press in Utica.

Newspapers around the country have followed this trend to a smaller sized paper.

Long ago the paper dropped Utica out of their masthead, another national industry trend.  But with this new format, the name "Utica Observer-Dispatch" has been clipped even further to the nickname the community has called them for years, O-D.  The masthead has been cut in half with O-D taking the lead over a much smaller font "Observer-Dispatch."
