‘Utica Struggles’ – A Fresh Look [PHOTOS]

Utica, NY Struggles

Recently a Getty Images photographer based in New York City visited Utica to do a photo essay on struggling Rust Belt cities.  Utica was used as an example of a struggling urban area.

The photos were picked up by the Albany Times Union, USA Today and other news outlets.  Utica Mayor Rob Palmieriand the Downtown Utica Development Authority showcased the images on Facebook and suggested Utica was unfairly portrayed.  We took some of the original ‘Utica Struggles’ photos and took a fresh look from a different perspective.
