Remember when President Bill Clinton beat Bob Dole? Or, do you remember when the Spice Girls had their first number 1hit with "Wannabe"? Of course we are talking about the year 1996, and the hottest selling toy of the year was the Bop It. It's our Spotlight with today's Vintage Toys.

Bop It was the first of what was later to become a series of “Bop It” games. Bop It featured three inputs "Bop it!" (a depressible button), "Twist it!" (a twistable lever) and "Pull it!" (a pullable handle). There was three game modes: Solo Bop, Vox Bop and Beat Bop. All you had to do was complete the commands issued by the Bop It in a timely manner by performing the task that it commanded. So, if Bop It called out "Bop it!", the player must quickly depress the "Bop It!" button. If Bop It called out "Twist it!", the player must quickly turn the "Twist it!" crank.

Here's a video to show how it worked...
