Calls went into police in Washington County late yesterday regarding 2 missing boys.   The 13-year-olds had gone sledding in the town of Greenwich, near Saratoga Springs, and had not returned home.

New York State Police, along with forest rangers and canine units began searching at around 5 p.m., when a dog found part of a sled sticking out from a snow bank. News10 reports the 2 boys were building a snow fort in a large mound of snow when a DPW truck dumped another load onto the pile.  The bank then collapsed on the pair.

After frantic digging, 7th grader Josh Demarast was found unresponsive.  He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The second boy was found alive and taken to a Saratoga hospital suffering from hypothermia.
