US News and World Report's named two schools in Central New York a couple of the best Liberal Arts Colleges in the nation.

The 2017 "Best Colleges" list is out and both Hamilton College in Clinton, and Colgate College in Hamilton are tied for the number 12 spot in the "National Liberal Arts Colleges" category.

According to Rankings and Reviews.com, the top 3 schools are all located in Massachusetts: Williams, Amherst, and Wellesley. Hamilton and Colgate beat out both the United States Naval Academy, and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

Not that we're penny pinching or anything, but in case you're wondering, Colgate's tuition is less than Hamilton's:  $51,955 vs. $51,240. So, if your son or daughter really wants to go to Hamilton instead of Colgate, let them come up with the additional $715. After all, you just forked over 50K.

Oh, you've been wondering all along, does Colgate college have ties to the toothpaste? The answer is yes. William Colgate is one of the college's original trustee's, and he founded what became the Colgate Company back in 1806.

Hopefully the students there aren't brushing with Crest.
