'Princess of China' might make Coldplay and Rihanna the musical kings and queen of Britain. RiRi and Chris Martin's band are among the leading contenders for the 2013 BRIT Awards. The annual U.K. awards show today (Jan. 10) revealed its list of nominees, which also included a surprise nod for the late Amy Winehouse.

Coldplay and Rihanna are up for Best British Single for 'Princess of China.' Chris Martin's band is also a contender for Best Live Act, while RiRi is up for Best International Female.

Winehouse's nom comes in the Best British Female category, based on the success of her posthumous album 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures,' which hit No. 1 in Britain.

Scottish R&B singer Emeli Sande actually leads the pack with four nominations, while Rita Ora picked up three. Both artists appear twice in the Best British Single category, which features a whopping 15 nominees, including Adele's 'Skyfall,' Florence + the Machine's 'Spectrum,' and Jessie J's 'Domino.'

The boys from One Direction are back at the BRITs with a Best British Group nomination. A year ago, 1D won Best British Single for 'What Makes You Beautiful.' They are already confirmed to perform at the Feb. 20 ceremony.

Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean and fun. are among the Americans nominated for the International awards.
