In this past year a lot has happened in the area.  Some things were expected, others were not.  What is in store for us in the coming year?  Here are some staff predictions for 2017 in the Mohawk Valley.

-A late-winter snow storm will close some area schools for nearly a week.

-The Uber and Lyft ride sharing services will become available in Utica and Rome.

-A major airline will announce passenger service to Griffiss international Airport, but it will be put on hold.

-Chick-Fil-A will open somewhere in New Hartford.

-Starbuck's will open a shop on North Genesee Street in Utica.

-An equipment malfunction at Utica Club will result in thousands of gallons of beer being given to the public.

-A 70's superstar will surprise the area when they announce a concert at the Stanley.

-A former popular news anchor will return to local TV.

-The mayor of a valley village will step down after a dispute with the police department.

-A major Hollywood movie star will be in the area while planning to build a summer home in the Adirondacks.

-A popular Utica restaurant will open a location in Rome.

-Facebook blows up after Oprah is spotted dining in a Cooperstown restaurant.

-Social media says that Cracker Barrel is coming to New Hartford, but the rumor is not confirmed.

Let's look back at these predictions in one year.  We may actually surprise ourselves when several come true.
