It's almost camping season and if you haven't booked your site for Memorial Day, 4th of July or any other excursion, consider these campgrounds for great waterfront camping.

There's nothing like setting up a tent in the woods for a weekend of relaxing, except maybe setting that tent up on a site that's right on the water.

So here are a few campgrounds where you can do just that in the Adirondack park:

Moffit's is a favorite of valley campers. While most of their sites are in the woods, they have a few beautiful sites right on Sacandaga Lake.

Just a short drive from Utica, North & South Lakes have all of their sites along the water's edge making for easy kayak and canoe access. The best part is that these sites are free.

In the heart of the Adirondacks, Limekiln Lake Campground is a well-kept secret. With tons beautiful campsites both in the woods and along the shore, you won't be disappointed with your stay.

Indian Lake offers the option of camping right of the shore of the lake, or on one of the lake's islands.

Fish Creek Ponds sits on a series of lakes and ponds that connect to Saranac Lake. The best part of Fish Creek Ponds? Every one of their campsites is a waterfront site, and you can even see Whiteface Mountain.

Don't forget to bring your kayak or canoes, but don't worry most of these campgrounds have inexpensive rentals if you want to get out on the water.
