50 Cent Arrested For Cursing Onstage: ‘They Didn’t Have the Clean Versions’
50 Cent wound up in police custody after using R-rated language at a show in St. Kitts. The hip-hop star/actor was arrested Saturday (June 25) and formally charged with indecent language during his appearance in the concert.
50 reportedly was cited for saying the word “motherf---er” in front of the crowd--reportedly about 40,000. He was detained by police after the show, then taken into custody where he was granted bail at $5,000 EC; roughly $1,800 in United States dollars. He appeared in court on Sunday and paid his fine before flying back to the U.S.
“Mr. Jackson was only booked to host the show, when he arrived at the festival organizers asked him to perform, he obliged and used the DJ they had there," 50's rep explains.
“Unfortunately, they didn’t have the clean version to his tracks, so there were profanities used during his performance. The show was a great success and he will make sure for future trips to St. Kitts that he leaves the “motherf---ers” in the United States.”
It makes for an interesting end to a busy week for 50 Cent. He was at Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash in Atlanta last weekend, where he was at the center of one of the night's most awkward moments when he wouldn't leave the stage for hometown stars TIP and Jeezy. Also this past week, the rap mogul attended the New York City premiere of the 3rd season of the STARZ series Power, on which 50 Cent executive produces and plays a supporting role.
