Have you heard about the latest celebrity conspiracy theory involving Sam Smith and Adele? We investigate it in this week's "98 Seconds with Naomi Lynn" video.

Alright, have you heard this one before? Apparently, the latest celebrity conspiracy theory claims that Sam Smith and Adele must be the same person...

Sounds ridiculous, right?!

Well, here's the reasoning behind it. A Twitter user that goes by the handle @Jesse21Valona, decided to post a video of Adele's hit song "Hello." But in the video, this person slows down the speed, and it sounds like Sam Smith.

Of course, this got Twitter users all worked up. People started questioning whether they've ever seen Adele and Sam Smith in the same room together. Others slowed down different Adele songs and reached the same conclusion...

"Adele slowed down sounds exactly the same as Sam Smith, so the must be the same person."

...Really?

This is supposed to be a believable conspiracy theory?!

In the video (at the top of this page), I explain what's wrong with that conclusion. Sure, Adele slowed down may sound similar to Sam Smith, but you can hear some differences. Based just on that, it's a dumb reason to think these two celebrities are the same.

Well, the conspiracy (mostly) died out when another Twitter user, that goes by the handle @notsohugingbear decided to speed up a Sam Smith song to see if it sounded like Adele. And it definitely doesn't.

Now, if you haven't seen this all over Twitter yet, you can hear both videos from Twitter, and see other users' reactions to the "discovery," at: HuffingtonPost.com
