Actor James Franco is returning to Central New York to address SU students and the general public on Homecoming Weekend.

Most recently, Franco spoke at Cornell University's commencement ceremony. He is a strong proponent of secondary education, and is well schooled himself: He attended UCLA for English, and eventually earned his graduate degree in advanced writing at Columbia University. He's currently working on his PhD at Yale.

According to Syracuse.com:

Franco is best known for his roles in the "Spider-Man" trilogy, TV "Freaks & Geeks," his Golden Globe-winning portrayal of James Dean and movies like "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and "Pineapple Express."

In addition to his commitment to being a student and a working actor, he's also an instructor. He teaches film making classes at NYU, UCLA, and USC.

Franco's speaking engagement is on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8pm, at the Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium, at 7:15 pm. Tickets for the event are $10 for students, $15 for alumni, and $20 for the general public. To purchase tickets, click HERE.
